Auxilia, with funds raised by Spes, has contributed to the functioning of the hospital Kabgayi through the purchase and shipment of medical supplies; in order to overcome travel-related difficulties in this area, Auxilia has donated an ambulance and provided for its delivery on site.

In Mogadishu, the Somali capital, swept by more than a decade of war and anarchy, an ambulance, an ultrasound and a load of drugs were delivered to a group of volunteers from Pescara heading to Mogadishu. In the village of Jambalul preventive treatment against malaria has been successfully  tested in some children through Artemeter, a not expensive antimalarial drug that has drastically reduced mortality from malaria.

A private donation of EURO 30,000 has allowed to build the center of pastoral care of the Comboni Fathers (oratory and chapel) in Nyala. Auxilia and SPES have kept the control over the Hospital in next years and have contributed to the building of the Multi-Ethnic Cultural Centre in Nyala.

In Africa, Auxilia in collaboration with the SPES, raised a small grain of hope in the fight against AIDS, which affects about 25% of the population. The percentage of people infected by HIV rises dramatically in mother-infant pairs, increasing by an additional 10%. 8500 Euros have been donated for anti-retroviral drugs in the therapy of the Dream project, a figure that has allowed us to treat the mother suffering from HIV and save the child, providing care to 14 mother-infant pairs in the center of Matola, Mozambique

In Darfur, the Sudanese region swept by a bloody civil war, Auxilia and SPES have implemented Outpost 55 on behalf of the Italian Cooperation. This is a humanitarian project launched on the occasion of the Sanremo Music Festival, which foresees the construction of a first-aid clinic with twenty beds, two schools and a multicultural center. Thanks to the Sanremo Music Festival and other institutions, Euro 390,000 have been raised for the construction of Outpost 55.
